The C4 class is an upper middle school class with mostly 7th and 8th grade students. Through the day, students are provided instruction in Math, Language Arts, History, Science, and Recreation Therapy. Many students in our class enjoy reading, drawing/art, discussing technology, and playing board games during free time.
Our classroom offers an environment for students to improve on academics as well as build positive behavioral skills. By giving students the opportunity to problem solve, cope, and manage themselves independently, students often gain insight to their actions and learn to make choices that support their own growth.
Staff provide positive behavior support to highlight student’s competencies both in and out of the classroom. Additionally, staff use Life Space Crisis Intervention techniques to understand patterns of behaviors as well as discuss times of conflict with students.
